How much rent could we expect?

This depends on many criteria namely the number of bedrooms, the house location its size and the quality of the amenities. For a standard house we would consider prices of between £50 and £120 per person per day for the 14 day considered i.e.. For a semi-detached house with 3 double bedrooms in Caerleon we would expect a price of approximately £5,040. Note; prestigious houses could be considerably more than £100. per person per day depending upon the entertaining facilities available.

Who should we use to rent our property?

There will be many companies that have cheap web sites and offer to rent your property but Dunbar2010 are highly visible with local offices and have proprietors you can speak to! Do you really want to put your house in the hands of companies without experience in the rental market and have little or no visibility?

What would we have to do to rent our property?

If you chose our option one then we would suggest that the house is left extremely clean and tidy and the guest have adequate empty space for their clothes and belongings. You are there to receive them and to give them the keys and show them around the house. We would also recommend that a deposit and bond is agreed. With our options two, three and four you would have full rental guidance given by Dunbar2010 staff preceding any rental agreed.

How would we make a payment to Dunbar2010?

Initial payment required in options one two and three can be made on-line or by credit card on the telephone to Dunbar2010. Commission payments would be deducted from rentals obtained.

Would we need to provide any services during the rental period?

Generally the answer is no your guest would provide their own transport and sustenance requirements for those who choose option one they should ensure their tenants have a telephone number to contact in case a problem arises. For options two, three and four the answer is no Dunbar 2010 would manage all their requirements for you.

Would I have to take out insurance?

In all cases current insurers must be notified that your property would be rented for this period and almost certainly there would be a surcharge made. Should your insurance company be unable to issue a relevant policy Dunbar2010 can introduce you to a local underwriter in Newport who would be able to assist in providing buildings, contents and third party liability cover.

What happens if my house does not rent?

With over 50,000 people expected to visit the area for the Ryder Cup is most unlikely that your house would not rent but it could be the case that you would have to reduce the original price requested but in all cases Dunbar2010 would be there to offer advice.

Can I obtain Ryder Cup tickets?

Ryder Cup tickets are allocated by the Ryder Cup Committee to hotels in the area who have signed up for agreed accommodation and the remainder have to be requested directly with the RCL and they are allocated through a lottery system which is held early in 2009. Why is the Ryder Cup so important?

It is considered that the Ryder Cup is the third largest sporting event held after the Olympics and the Soccer World Cup and it will definitely be the largest sporting event staged in Wales.

What is required of a house owner?

Firstly the house must be cleaned throughout with all advertised beds made up with clean linen and bedding with one set of linen for each bed for further use should it be required. It is recommended that all valuables and treasured possessions should be stored away from the living area of the house. The house would be returned in good order but cleaning and bedding procedure would be the house owners responsibility.
